October is National Animal Safety & Protection Month!
Despite our best efforts to keep our pets safe, accidents do happen. With some quick tips we can help you prepare for the unexpected.
Be proactive - Make sure that all of your pets stay current on their immunizations given by your veterinarian.
Pet-proof your home - Secure medications, possible choking hazards, & remember to keep toxic foods, plants & chemicals out of reach!
Identify your pet - Two times the charm! By providing at least two forms of ID, your give your pet a great chance of getting back home, should they go missing. Pets can slip out of a collar, but they cannot slip out of a permanent ID.
In a disaster, have a plan - have a copy of current vaccines printed & keep them with your other important documents. Make sure you have your pet's medications, a baggie of food & drinking water in your emergency kit.
Should the unexpected happen, we do hope that you found these tips helpful.
Here at RRVH&PR our goal is to keep your pets happy, healthy & safe. We are always here for you when you need us.
